Chevy Noir (b. 1997, Johannesburg, South Africa), is a contemporary expressionist artist whose work spans painting, printmaking, and animation. A graduate of the University of Johannesburg with a National Diploma in Financial Services Operations (2018). Noir initially pursued a career in the transport industry before redirecting his focus to the arts. In 2023, he completed his third year of printmaking at Artist Proof Studios and is currently finishing his fourth year.
Noir’s work engages with a variety of themes, drawing inspiration from contemporary art, storytelling, psychology, philosophy, and mythology. His visual narratives captivate audiences by blending modern influences with rich, symbolic representations. Noir’s artistic journey includes notable exhibitions such as Johannesburg Open Studios at Constitutional Hill and Transwerk (2022), Play Braamfontein (2023), and group shows like “On Common Ground” (2022), “Tales of Our City” (2023), and “Where You Are” (2024).
