Oda Tungodden
Oda Tungodden, born 1992, is an artist based between Cape Town, South Africa and Bergen, Norway. A graduate of the Michaelis School of Fine Art, she works predominantly in painting and has had a lifelong interest in figurative styles. Her works scale from large murals to small studies on paper and canvas. Inspired by her own experiences, Oda’s artworks explore identity and belonging in an ever-globalized society. In her art, everyday moments morph into something ambiguous as layers of lush colours dilute and erase parts of their surrounding spaces. Ultimately, Oda creates images that occupy a space somewhere between reality, perception and imagination.
