Lauren Opia

Lauren Opia (b.1998) is a multidisciplinary visual artist, animator, and filmmaker based in South Africa. Her work explores the transient states between sentimentality, personal experiences, and the human psyche, examining how each individual’s Umwelt shapes their life. Opia primarily works with ceramics and mixed media animation, blending these mediums to create a dialogue between her personal experiences and unique reality through color, figuration, and constructed environments.
