Matt Potter
As a contemporary painter, my work focuses on the complex world of human, psychology and the search for self-discovery. My art blends abstraction, fragmentation, and representation through exploring the fascinating shapes created by fallen strands of
hair. I use acrylic paint on canvas, carefully sketching the delicate lines with a pencil to capture the essence of the fragments and then adding highlights and shadows or bold black lines to reveal the unique personalities and deep characters hidden within these
tiny strands.
My work is influenced by both personal experiences and the meaningful stories of loved ones, offering candid reflections on the various experiences that make up life. I invite viewers to reflect on their own lives, stories and engage in introspection and meaningful conversations through my art.
