Winston Thekiso
Winston Thekiso (b. 1978, Evaton, Gauteng, South Africa) is an artist and graphic designer known for his exploration of belief systems and impact of human behaviour. Graduating with a Diploma in Graphic Design from Technikon Witwatersrand in 200, Thekiso relocated to Mbombela in 2007, where he has worked for the Department of Human Settlements. His largely self-taught artistic journey includes mentorship under Karin Daymond and the White River Gallery.
Thekiso's work, characterized by abstract forms and geometric shapes, addresses social, political, and moral issues. His notable series of lithographs produced with The Artists' Press has garnered significant attention, including a feature in Art Africa magazine's 'Bright Young Things', His piece 'Silence' was the cover of Thabo Jijana's book, 'Failing Maths and my other Crimes'. Thekiso's first solo exhibition, 'Timeless Moments', was hosted by the White River Gallery in 2019. His art is part of the High Court collection in Mbombela.
