THE PRINTING GIRLS (TPG) is an all-female collective of South African-based artist dedicated to the art of printmaking. The collective was founded by six graduates from Rhodes University, a school with a rich printmaking tradition, during a class reunion exhibition in 2016. Inspired to create together again, they began exhibiting as The Printing Girls. In 2017, they expanded to include more female printmakers, forming the collective's current iteration.
TPG's main focus remains to provide a platform for South African women printmakers to share ideas, network, and exhibit their work together.
