Lynette Musukubili

Lynette Musukubili
Lynette Musukubili (b. 1995, Windhoek) earned a Diploma in Visual Arts from the University of Namibia in 2022. She has participated in group shows in Namibia, and her work was shown by the NJE Collective at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair in 2022. Musukubili is a recipient of the Africa Prime Initiative (API) Grant, which aims to equip African creatives with funding to develop their skills and to showcase their work and talent. Of the ‘born free’ generation in a newly independent country, Musukubili navigates the challenges of being a young woman in Namibia, often commenting on social issues, including the overwhelmingly high incidence of violence against women and girls. Elements of her Caprivian (Zambezi) heritage are deeply embedded in her recent work. She held her first solo exhibition at the Project Room Namibia in March 2023.
