Simone Brewster

Simone Brewster (born 1983, London) is an artist, designer, and educator. A Bartlett School of Architecture graduate (2003) with a Masters in Design Products from the Royal College of Art (2007), Brewster boldly infuses her Caribbean roots into her work, celebrating Black female narratives through vibrant colors and rhythmic forms. Based in London, she explores craft, balancing beauty, functionality, and a fusion of “ethnic” and “western” influences.

In painting, Brewster uses abstraction to delve into identity, expressing the hidden complexities of our internal landscapes. Her works transcend figurative art, inviting viewers to interpret layered shapes that reflect multifaceted identities.

In fashion, she frames design as a reflection of emotion and self-discovery. Through colors and forms, she highlights the power of fashion to celebrate individuality and the "beautiful messiness" of identity, merging art and self-expression beyond aesthetics.
