Heidi Meilke
Heidi is a visual artist, printmaker, activist, and arts educator based in Johannesburg.
Heidi works mainly in printmaking, drawing and painting. In her printmaking practice, she experiments with alternative photographic printmaking processes, and has a passion for monotype, linocut, drypoint and other low-toxic etching techniques. Her artmaking varies from activist work to the more humorous and playful.
Heidi holds a Masters’ degree in Fine Arts (UJ) and is currently the 2nd year co-ordinator at Artist Proof Studio (APS).
She has participated in several exhibitions and held her first solo exhibition at the 2017 ABSA KKNK.
