Phillip Mabote (b. 1982, Qwa-Qwa, Free State) is a renowned printmake specializing in linocut. He studied Professional Printmaking at Artist Proof Studio from 2007 to 2009. During his time there, Mabote participated in the Sonke Gender Justice Awareness Campaign and taught children aged 6 to 14 as part of the Studio's outreach program. He has held a solo show titled "Hunting For Lost Memories" at Candice Berman Gallery in 2016.
Mabote has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including shows at Lizamore and Associates ("The Forgotten," 2016), S.A Fine Art Print Fair, Gordon Institute of Business Science (2015), and Industrial Development Corporation (2015). His works are part of several notable collections, including ARUP (Melrose Arch Johannesburg), Bus Rapid Transit Stations (Johannesburg), and Sonke Gender Justice Network (Johannesburg). Mabote currently lives and works in Protea Glen, Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa.
