Angelique Bougaard
Bougaard (1993) is a South African visual creator (https://www.instagram.com/a_bougaard/) and part-time Junior Lecturer in the Department of Visual Art, in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (FADA) at the University of Johannesburg. She will graduate with a Master of Arts in Visual Art from the University of Johannesburg in May 2023. She received her Bachelor of Arts, Honours (Visual Art) in 2020 (cum laude, with distinction) and Bachelor of Arts (Visual Art) in 2019 (attaining outstanding achievement awards in both theory and practice). In 2016, Bougaard obtained her Bachelor of Education degree, receiving the Top Achievers award and UJenius club award.
Awards She received the Sasol New Signatures 2019 merit award and was the 2018 runner up in paintings and two-dimensional division for the Straus & Co. Irma Stern competition.
Collections Her work is held in ARAK Collection in Qatar and the collection of the University of Pretoria.
