Laylaa Jacobs
Laylaa Jacobs was born in 1994 in Cape Town, where she is currently based. In 2016, she graduated from Michaelis school of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town (UCT). She was featured in the House and Leisure magazine as one of South Africa’s top 10 artists in the August 2017 Issue. She’s taken part in numerous group shows and art festivals nationally in South Africa, such as representing the UCT Alumni artists at the Nirox Winter Sculpture Fair in 2017; working with curator Dr. Siona O’Connel and Jade Nair, “A flood in my hands” at the Fried Contemporary Gallery; with curator Aysha Waja and “Well Worn” at the Cavalli Gallery, Cavalli Estate; with curator Amy Lyn Eveleigh. She has also exhibited at the National Museum of Bloemfontein for The Art Bank of South Africa and has recently exhibited at the KZNSA Gallery; with curator Carol Brown and Zinhle Khumalo.
