Nabila Moolla

Nabila Moolla
Nabila Moolla, born in 2000 in Johannesburg, completed her BA in Fine Arts at the University of Cape Town in 2022. She lives and works in Cape Town as an artist, designer, creative director, and art advisor. Currently, she is working as an intern at the Iziko South African National Gallery and the Iziko Social History Centre, focusing on curation, research, and conservation. During her third year at UCT, Nabila majored in print-making, with a focus on screen printing. Her work was vivid in colour and depicted found objects, within the theme of creating a new life of mass-produced subjects. Her later works incorporated her discipline of screen-print with other mediums, including wallpaper, installation work, interactive art, and sculpture. These pieces explore personal concepts of the home through a strong focus on materiality and functionality and its subjectivity.
