Nina Jacobson
Nina Jacobson currently lives and works in Johannesburg, completing her 4th year of studying Fine Arts at Wits. In her own practice, she is primarily interested in the techniques of printmaking and painting. Her experience of life is largely in colours and sounds which she relay in her artwork. Her work has been very influenced by how one can experience physical space and is characterised by distortions because of her own experience with dissociation.
In 2019, Nina was featured in Turbine’s PAPER exhibition, and apprenticed under Tracey Rose for the Kampala Biennale.
In 2021, Nina was awarded the merit prize for the Wits Young Artist Award, and shortlisted for the Arts Thread x Gucci Global Design Graduate Show.
