Phuong Hoang
Phuong Hoang is a photographer, educator and visual storyteller who grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam in the 1990s - a millennial capital that has become a political and cultural centre in Southeast Asia. Using various techniques such as interviews, research and data analysis from over 15 years of journalism experience, Phuong Hoang explores her subjects conceptually, critically and with a touch of humour. She believes in humanity, self-awareness and self-reflection. Phuong Hoang has been teaching photography, visual narratology and experimental media at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences since 2022. In the same year, she became a member of the collective Unbinding Histories.
