Treatwell Mnisi is a Johannesburg-based artist whose career is built on a foundation of formal training and dedicated professional development. Originally from the rural developments of Mpumalanga, his artistic journey led him to the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), where he earned a National Diploma in Fine & Applied Arts in 2008.
Following his studies, Mnisi dedicated himself to building a multifaceted career in the arts. In 2011, he shared his skills by facilitating art classes at the Tshwane Leadership Foundation in Pretoria. Eager to understand the commercial landscape of his craft, he participated in entrepreneurial business workshops with the Craft and Design Institute (CDI) between 2015 and 2016 to deepen his knowledge of the art and craft market.
Mnisi’s engagement with the arts community also includes his participation in philanthropic efforts. In 2020, he was an invited artist at a fundraiser auction hosted by Smile Artist Africa (SAA), a successful campaign that raised money to support women with breast cancer.
