Ulric Roberts

Ulric Roberts, also known as Namasun, is a visual artist from Namaqualand, Northern Cape. His work is deeply inspired by his roots and the natural beauty of Namaqualand, including the natural environment, the culture, and the legends of the Nama people. Ulric mainly works in oil paint. Based in Concordia, he describes himself as a visual storyteller, committed to depicting the stories of his community. His notable achievements include participating in the 2005 Soul of Africa SADC Arts Exhibition, exhibiting internationally with SANAVA in 2007, and having his work included in the William Humphrey’s Art Gallery’s permanent collection in 2019.
