Ulriche Jantjes

Ulriche Jantjes
Ulriche Jantjes was born in 1997 in Cape Town, South Africa. Despite growing up in Cape Town, her roots stem in Elim, a mission station in the Overberg. Ulriche’s passion for her heritage inspires her art practice. In 2019, she completed her BAFA at the Michaelis School of Fine Art (UCT), where her practice incorporated both sculpture and painting. She finds inspiration from conversations with people from a variety of social backgrounds in various communities. Oral histories form the essence of her research and therefore, immersing herself in the community and landscape of the Overberg serves as the greatest influence in her work. Ulriche is currently expanding her research on her heritage as a woman of colour, in pursuit of her Masters in Fine Art.
