Verónica Losantos is a Spanish artist whose work is deeply rooted in personal life histories, focusing on the mechanisms of memory and past processing. Lasantos uses photography as a medium to create metaphors rather than merely documenting situations, often blending documentary and fictional approaches. She combines various visual styles and technical elements to present her subjects in unique ways.

In her artistic practice, Verónica explores the intersections between photography, memory, and identity. Her work navigates the tension between personal experiences and collective memory, using photographic archives, material traces, and everyday objects to tell stories. She is particularly interested in how stories and meanings are passed down, transformed, or lost over generations.

Photography serves as a medium of reflection for Losantos, allowing her to penetrate and make visible both inner and outer worlds. She questions how we construct visual narratives and their influence on our understanding of identity. Verónica approaches photographic techniques playfully and experimentally, combining analog and digital methods to create new layers of meaning.

Her work is strongly rooted in research and theoretical approaches from history, philosophy, and art history. These reflections flow into her projects, which often have a dialogical character, inviting the audience to question their own experiences and memories. Verónica also engages with participatory art, creating spaces where viewers are actively involved in interpreting and transforming stories.
