Amy Simons

Amy Simons is an artist and art facilitator based in Cape Town, South Africa. Since 2012, she has worked as a creative arts educator, collaborating with various organizations and educational institutions. In 2015, she completed her BA in Social Science at UCT and an intensive ASTAR art facilitator training course.

Currently, Amy teaches art part-time at South Peninsula High School and collaborates with Indoni Dance Academy and The Astar Project on a youth development interdisciplinary art program. She designs and facilitates art processes for self-development and organizational growth, using art as a tool for social engagement and personal growth.

Amy's artistic work focuses on intimacy, love, and healing. She uses watery materials to express themes of love, loss, intimacy, and sexuality. She has participated in various exhibitions, including "Spaces // A Constellation of Visual Stories," an exhibition she helped curate, market, and conceptualize.
