Sunali Narshai (b. 1989, Durban, South Africa) is an independent artist, animator and illustrator. With a bold and graphic style, Narshai’s work oscillates between art and design. Grounded in drawing, she works with paper, incorporating collage and calligraphic tools to explore movement, form, and composition.
Through experimentation and intuitive play, she is always searching for moments of infinite wonder and possibility. Narshai graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Rhodes University in 2014 and is a PPC Imaginarium grant recipient.
Her work has been exhibited at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, the Lift Off Global Film Festival, and on the fringe in Cape Town and Helsinki. Narshai currently lives in Montreal, Canada.
