Baoagi Keitshokile
Baoagi One Keitshokile is a multifaceted artist, born and raised in the village of Serowe, Botswana. From an early age, he immersed himself in cultural and performing arts clubs, igniting his passion for artistic expression. His journey led him to study art and design, unveiling the world of visual arts and nurturing his aspiration to become a curator.
In 2007, Baoagi became a member of the Art of the Poets collective, where he honed his skills in poetry and music through regular events. His artistic endeavors transcended borders, collaborating with various artists and showcasing his work across Botswana, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Currently serving as a creative hub manager and operating a studio at Khama III Memorial Museum in his home village, where he is also a volunteer and assists in curating exhibitions. He's also actively involved as an adjudicator for Botswana's constituency arts competitions and National Art festival, championing and nurturing emerging talents.
His art defies classification, embodying versatility and a fusion of mediums. His performances and creative works are centred around the theme of enlightenment as empowerment, emphasizing the inherent greatness within individuals. Baoagi believes his purpose is to spread this message through curating and, facilitating various artistic pursuits as a means to combat societal ills and promote positivity.
