Lizamore & Associates

Entering its 24th year of operation, Lizamore & Associates has been devoted to consistent excellence; they have managed to capture the market with their transparent and honest business ethics and they continue exploring transformative possibilities through contemporary art.
Lizamore & Associates hosts exhibitions with carefully selected artists and continuously presents exciting new projects. The gallery takes the view that by showing a considered combination of exhibitions of the work of more established names, as well as new voices, they promote prospects to collectors, while still serving the growing market of new buyers who look for sound investment opportunities in the realm of established artists.
Artists that the gallery regularly work with include Jan Tshikhutula, Zolile Phetshane, Adele van Heerden, Siphamandla Ex, Joel Mamboka, Seza Zitha, as well as other more established artists such as Karin Preller, Johan Stegmann, Thabang Lehobye, Elizabeth Gunter and Judy Woodborne. They have worked with many artists in the past, assisting in launching their careers and practicing good judgement of extraordinary talent in South Africa.
The gallery has been exhibiting through a satellite space in Rosebank at 16 Baker Street, the Firestation. This is a stunning, large space that allows artists to utilise the space to their full potential and is also ideal for group exhibitions that aid the gallery in creating a platform for newer artists. Being in a corporate lobby with a lot of foot traffic, it invites people outside of the artworld to get involved by attending openings and starting their own collections. And in 2025 it will be exploring new possibilities of exhibition, so watch this space!
Lizamore & Associates has been involved with many projects over the years and exhibited at all the national fairs namely Latitudes, Turbine Art Fair, Joburg Art Fair and CTAF. Further, they have participated in the well known Laerskool Jan Celliers Art Fair and grew this annual art exhibition over many years. They launched the SA Taxi Foundation Art Award which ran for three years from 2014-2017. Most recently they were guest curators at the 2023 Toyota SU Woordfees and hosted a group exhibition and auction of over 100 artists and over 180 artworks in the Stellenbosch Town Hall and co-hosted this with Strauss & Co and were invited a second time to curate the same project in 2024.
Teresa has also been working with corporate art collections such as Sasol, RMB and FirstRand since 1982. She is known in the industry for her integrity and loyal support of a diverse group of artist across the country for many years.
