Selloane Moeti
(b. KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa) is a fine artist whose work explores themes of lineage, spirituality, and healing through painting and sculpture. She holds a degree in Fine Art, majoring in painting and sculpture, from the Durban University of Technology (2009).
Moeti draws on cultural and spiritual references in her work, often incorporating materials such as red clay (imbovu), imbepol (ritual sage), and holy ash to trace and honor her ancestral heritage. Her vivid, dreamlike paintings feature stylized figures and rich symbolism, reflecting an engagement with African spirituality and connections to the land.
She has received significant recognition, including the KZN Young Achiever Award in Visual Arts (2018) and first prize at the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts Members Exhibition (2019). In 2021, she participated in the RMB Talent Unlocked programme, which supports emerging South African artists.
Moeti's work has been widely exhibited and featured in publications, including a cover feature on ARTSEEN UK magazine this year. Her pieces are part of numerous public and private collections.
