Artist Philisa Zibi imaginatively explores and captures this ancient connection between women and the ocean and the inner lives of both as they intermittently come together and move apart – ebb and flow. The artist raises questions regarding how the landscape impacts the feminine psyche and in reverse how does she impact the land herself, and examines traditional African cultural practices are in many ways aligned to natures elements. In exploring the women spiritual practice, questions to how African spirituality holds space for the feminine's presence within the present context.
