The Igbo pronunciation of ‘See my Sweater’ is a reference to the Harmattan season and how it heralds wind and cooler weather, and typically also launches a sartorial season – it is when heavy weight winter sweaters and coats are displayed with pride, many unsuitable for the African climate, but worn with pride nonetheless. The irony of the romanticising of the winter months is not lost on Muoh – it is after all a deeply European response to a typically African climactic occurrence.
