Yawô at Ilê Asé Omô Nanã, lover of samba, Brazilian music and beauty in the conciseness of black philosophy. A designer by training, he has been a visual artist since the age of 14, although at the time he didn't know what he was doing. A son of the night, he spent part of his youth practising urban art such as graffiti, pixo, lick-lambes and stenciel.
Today, as part of the Abstract Expressionism produced with a strong influence from Brazilian Naïf art, the artist seeks to bring a little of his artistic references and experiences into the visual universe in which Beré calls himself an interlocutor. This is a space that the artist sees as a refuge, a universe that, like ours, carries complexities, social and philosophical discussions.
So Beré portrays ithans, parables and moments, always seeking to learn and absorb from this universe, like a viewer who applies his critical sense based on his experiences and references, but with complete respect for what he can learn from it all.
Immersing ourselves in the artist's universe, we float with the lightness that his colours created with acrylic paint, spray paint, pastel chalk, markers and even the squeezer produce, loaded with sensations and information in an alternation of simplicity, the search for pragmatic resolutions and easy reading.
