Bayron Van Wyk

Bayron Van Wyk is a writer, researcher and cultural worker.

Bayron studied for a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at the University of Namibia (UNAM) and Master of Arts in Anthropology at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa with interests in history, culture and heritage. Since 2022, he has been working at the Museums Association of Namibia (MAN) where he has been exposed to the intricacies surrounding Namibian collections, including cultural objects and artworks, specifically how these collections were taken into ownership of European (colonial) institutions, such as museums and art galleries.

Van Wyk has further engaged in restitution processes, including provenance research, artistic engagement with these objects, aimed at ensuring the adherence of ethical principles in the trade of Namibian cultural objects and artworks.
