Held in in the dark, pinched between calcified crust under an ocean floor we never saw and still we don’t know,
boiled sand caught unaware sent stemming through cracks in the mantle,
Cooled to glass,
Pink and translucent,
Facets and occlusions,
Flawed and whole,
Honed by hand, a little insight, and a loving buff.
