Ann-Marie Tully is a is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, and published academic. Her artistic practice is notable for its engagement with a wide range of media, including botanical pigments, printmaking, alternative photography, textile art, and the creation of art objects (objet). Thematically, her work investigates the complex relationships between humans and animals, the narratives separating 'culture' from the 'natural world', and botanical and alchemical histories.
Tully is widely exhibited, and her work is held in major South African public collections, including those of the Johannesburg Art Gallery and the Oliewenhuis Art Museum. Her sixth solo exhibition, Diluvian Delft, took place at Knysna Fine Art in 2017. She is also an accomplished curator, having organized numerous thematic exhibitions such as Romancing the Stone (KZNSA Gallery, 2022, co-curator), ZOO (NIROXprojects, 2013), Pointure (University of Johannesburg Gallery, 2012), and Urban Animal (ABSA Gallery, 2009).
She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and has worked extensively as a lecturer and educator in the arts education sector.
