Behailu Bezabih Ayele was born in 1960 in Addis Ababa, where he now lives and works. He has a Master’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts. He is currently a lecturer at Addis Ababa University. Beyond his love of popular culture and his mingling with the contemporary life of the people, he shows an abiding interest in both the historical and traditional iconography of Ethiopia and Africa.
