RESERVOIR is a curatorial partnership, founded by Heinrich Groenewald and Shona van der Merwe in 2021. The partners shaped their careers in commercial galleries, where they gained in depth knowledge of the local and international art market. Since then, they have established a strong network of artists, collectors and industry drivers. Functioning as a collection of curatorial information - a ‘reservoir’- the partnership specialises in collaboration in the contemporary art community, and have produced exhibitions with contemporary galleries like WHATIFTHEWORLD, WITW x KRONE, TheFOURTH and THK. In 2023, RESERVOIR projects opened on Bree Street in Cape Town, as a space for ambitious solo exhibitions by independent artists, new material from artists' studios and collaborative projects.
