Umfazi

Umfazi is a self portrait wherein I have on white body paint. Body paint was and is still used by some tribes in Africa. The jewelery and the doek represent femininity. Hence the title of the image, 'umfazi', which means 'a woman'. In my hand I have an old Canon camera. These are the two things I am madly in love with : the femininity of the African woman that comes so naturally and differently in all of us. And the ability to express myself through photography. This is who I am :a photographer who uses her feminine and African body to express herself.
