Ink Alchemy II(Siblings)

Photographs are one of the most common and travelled items one takes when leaving home. As a second-generation immigrant these become even more precious when you have no access to your home country. Part of my body of work titled re-, Ink Alchemy II(Siblings) was inspired by the contents of my family photo album. The ink used to paint this image is made from avocado seeds which hold deep historical significance to my mother's childhood home. The organic material and media speaks to the idea of the intangible and of fleeting memory.
