Zizah O

Zizah O

At just 15 years old, Zizah O. has emerged as a prodigious and redefining voice in the art world. Diagnosed with autism at a young age, Zizah discovered his profound passion for creativity through sketching and colouring, transforming his unique perspective into a powerful artistic practice.

Zizah’s art is a masterful blend of eclecticism, skilfully combining elements of cubism, impressionism, and abstraction. While his compositions often possess a striking simplicity, his subject matter is rich and diverse. In his compelling portrait work, he deconstructs and experiments with the human form, often obscuring facial expressions with innovative techniques. Every brushstroke and pencil line is a testament to his meticulous and calculated consideration.

Beyond the canvas, Zizah’s family champions his art as a vehicle to raise awareness, foster understanding, and promote the acceptance of autism, showcasing the immense potential of differently-abled individuals when given the opportunity.

His career is already marked by extraordinary achievements. In 2021, he held his first solo exhibition, “Eidetic Impressions,” at Terra Kulture and was named the Youth Category Winner at the PARAART TOKYO International Exhibition. In 2023, he was a contributing artist to the "Swing for Autism" auction and held his second solo show, “Unknown Countenance,” at TCA Gallery, making him the first child ever to have a solo exhibition during Lagos Art Week. He concluded that remarkable year by participating in TCA Gallery’s inaugural auction in Harare, Zimbabwe.
