Embodied & Embedded

Embodied & Embedded is a three-page Risograph zine that expands on the studio practice and collaboration between the co-recipients of the 2022-3 Young Womxn Studio Bursary at Bag Factory Artists' Studios. Within the pages, the artists Nadia Laila Myburgh and Kay-Leigh Fisher further explore their shared studio practice based on the creative lead of the Afrikaans colloquialism ‘maak’t aan’ and the concept of growing wild as women of colour. The zine features commissioned texts by Gillian Fleischmann and Boitumelo Makousu based on the prompt of shared relations and practices that are embedded in both artist's identity and embodied through their performances.
