Thinking through the dance of butterflies

Abstract expressionism is at the core of all Simone’s work as she delves into the her own sense of self and the complexities of life through colour, form and expression. She believes that layers have the power to create depth and dimensionality. And it’s through layering that she’s able to process the intricacies and narratives of human experience. The abstract artwork was made during Simone’s solo art residency in France 2023 as a response to her immediate surroundings of the french countryside and what it means to just exist within a space.
