Turakella Editha Leonard Gyindo (Tura) is a Tanzanian artist and curator whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, performance, video, and installation. Her work examines human adaptability in a rapidly changing world, challenging colonial and societal constructs around identity, intersectionality, and belonging. With a background in Chemical and Processing Engineering from Université de Badji Mokhtar in Algeria, Tura transitioned into the arts and completed the Curatorial Practices and Art Management Program at Nafasi Art Space Academy in 2021.
She later founded Deja Vu Studios, an experimental platform for artistic research and collaboration. Her work has been featured in the East Africa Biennale (2021), FNB Art Joburg, and a solo exhibition at Alliance Française in Dar es Salaam (2024).
