Born on June 1, 1978 in Rusape Zimbabwe , Shepherd Ndudzo apprenticed in the art of carving under the tutelage of his late father, master sculptor Barnabas Ndudzo. Ndudzo lives and works at a private studio in Gaborone, Botswana. Having mastered the art of carving wood, he continues to explore other unconventional media such as marble and granite, in addition to traditional wood, which has been the hallmark of his practice.
Over the years, Ndudzo has consistently refined his skills by participating in several mentorship programs with other high-profile artists, notably through the Thapong international workshops and residencies in Botswana. Ndudzo's work throughout the years has attracted interest from local and international collectors, with exhibitions in private and public spaces. A major highlight of his career includes receiving "the outstanding piece award" at the Beijing Biennale, in Beijing, China.
