Olivia Babel is a French artist specializing in fiber art, whose practice explores cartography and the concept of territory. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d’Angers, she reimagines geographic representation through a deeply personal and multicultural lens shaped by her diverse heritage across Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. Using traditional French savoir-faire and handwoven techniques, Babel crafts tactile landscapes that question humanity’s relationship with its environment. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Contextile (Portugal), the Biennial Objet Textile (France), and solo shows in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
