Thabo Kgabo Choshi was born and raised in Krugersdorp and is currently based in Kagiso, a small township with deep historical roots as a former mining community for workers and their families. He is the youngest child on his mother’s side, with one older sister.
Art became both a refuge and a form of resistance — a way to distance himself from the negative influences surrounding him, and a tool for processing lived experience. Through his work, Thabo reflects on memory, environment, loss, and resilience, using art as a means of survival, expression, and storytelling.
