Artist Odigile Setshwantsho

Born in Botswana , 1990, Sick’O is from Maun and was born there, also known as Home of the reeds and Home to the Okavango Delta . He has attained his Architecture Technology Degree and creates graffiti on the street walls. Additionally, he paints on canvas and recycled spray paint tins. His artwork features portraits, old-school graffiti-inspired characters combined with graffiti lettering and African fabric patterns. He also incorporates words into his style , words such as “Lorato” (love), “dream,” and “faith.” Moreover, SickO paints scenes that reflect the culture, history, lifestyle, and landscapes of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

Sick’O enjoys experimenting with various mediums and styles, including pop art, doodling, water colours, and vibrant, high-contrast colour palettes. He has been an artist since his primary school days. In 2017, one of his paintings, “Wayeyi Dance,” earned him third place in the Botswana National Arts Competitions. His work has been collected by the Nhabe Museum, local restaurants, and the renowned graffiti artist Maxx Moses, as well as numerous private collectors.

Sick’O cites Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and the Love Letters Graffiti Crew as his greatest influences. He is a member of the Concepts Under Pressure Crew and has participated in group exhibitions and collaborations with both local and international artists on murals and exhibitions, including “Next Level USA-Botswana 2024,” Thapong Visual Arts, Nhabe Museum, and the National Gallery in Gaborone. In addition, he designs and tattoos. In 2023, Sick’O held his first solo exhibition at The Space Botswana Art Gallery, where he also achieved second place in The No.1 Art Award presented by The Space Botswana and Sir Alexander McCall Smith.
