Elrie Joubert (b. 1984) is a visual artist based in Bloemfontein and an obsessive collector of miniature natural objects. She completed her B.A. Fine Arts with a distinction in Painting at the University of the Free State in 2006 and received her M.A. (Fine Arts) in 2010 from the same institution. Joubert won the Absa l’Atelier Art Competition in 2012, earning a six-month residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France, in 2013.
She has participated in various group exhibitions, including "TRIPE" (2019) at Absa Gallery in Johannesburg and "Small Objects" (2013) in New York, USA. Joubert's first solo exhibition, "For Keep’s Sake," was held in 2014, followed by "From Crane Flies to Cameos" in 2016. She is a member of the Free State Art Collective and currently lectures in printmaking, drawing, and Visual Culture Studies at the Central University of Technology, Free State.
