Jake Michael Singer

Jake Michael Singer (b.1991, Cape Town) is a South African multidisciplinary artist renowned for his mastery in sculpture, photography, and works on paper. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town in 2013, after expanding his artistic knowledge Central Saint Martins, London in 2012. Since then Singer's dynamic practice has spanned various media, showcasing his exceptional skill and conceptual depth.

Singer's work, often exploring themes of identity, materiality, and human experience, has been featured in major global art fairs, solo exhibitions across Europe, America, and Africa, and more than 60 group shows. His prominent public sculpture, Dawn Chorus, is displayed at the iconic W+A building in Johannesburg, while his monumental installation And All Birds Flew With a Harsh Scream (Marmara) was part of the Materiality exhibition at the Iziko South African National Gallery. His works are housed in collections both locally and internationally, and he has received notable recognition through grants, residencies, and exhibitions.
