KG'AKG'AM TSHABU
Kg’akg’am was born in Ghanzi, Botswana in 1954, and moved to D’kar with her father and children later in her life. She joined the Kuru Art Project in 2005. Her vibrant paintings of bold contrasting colours evoke a cheerful feel amongst viewers. Her subjects vary between her people's traditional life and the Kalahari's natural environment. While working on her art she often remembers the stories about the hunter-gatherer lifestyle from her ancestors. She enjoys the creative process and proclaims that it gives her confidence, and that art has made a great change to her life. Kg’akg’am works in various mediums but focuses mainly on painting and linocuts.
