Lereko Moalosi, known by the moniker The Son of Ruth, is an East Rand-born, self-taught artist with a passion for storytelling through illustration and graphic design. Since beginning his artistic journey in 2017, Lereko has developed a practice that centres on digital painting and glass painting, drawing deeply on themes of grief, divinity, and mortality.
His work explores the idea that we are constantly grieving the versions of ourselves we leave behind, creating visual narratives that reach both the wounded and the healed — showing that there is beauty even in life’s darkest moments.
