Lucy Jane Turpin

Lucy Jane Turpin
Lucy Jane Turpin (b. 1983 – Johannesburg, SA) completed her Honours Degree in Fine Arts at the University of Witwatersrand in 2007 and her Master’s Degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2015. Turpin’s practical focus is drawing, installation and painting. Furthermore she has a strong interest in curatorial projects. “The mind and body cannot be separated during productive action. My practice is informed by experience, that to which I carry and to which I encounter. My mark making is self-generating which aligns with intention, intuition and impulse. I am both an artist and a teacher and I see these two practices as informative and equally important.” – L.J.
