Raised in a family of artisans, Ly’s practice blends painting, calligraphy, and social commentary. His compositions merge figuration and abstraction to explore transformation and identity in a rapidly evolving world. Since his early recognition at age 14, he has exhibited widely across Africa, Europe, and the United States, including Monaco’s Sene-Gala. Influenced by his Peul heritage, Ly’s paintings engage with humanity’s relationship to change, merging ancestral wisdom with a vision of the future.
