Mpho Mothuntsi is a visual artist born in Sebokeng, South Africa. He holds a National Diploma in Fine Arts from the Vaal University of Technology, which he earned in 2015. His artistic journey is marked by a strong commitment to creative expression and cultural storytelling through visual art.
Since 2016, Mothuntsi has consistently participated in the prestigious Thami Mnyele Fine Art Awards, earning a place among the Top 15 finalists in 2016. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and initiatives that celebrate and support South African art and artists. In 2020, he exhibited in the Fringe Art Fair Group Show, followed by participation in the Detail Pop-Up Store in 2021—a platform supporting arts and culture small businesses.
In 2024, he was selected as one of the Top 20 artists in the 3rd Annual Umsizi Nopende Visual Art Competition. That same year, he completed an internship with Rea Iketsetsa NPO under the Art Bank of South Africa, further developing his professional practice.
In 2025, Mothuntsi took part in the Ekurhuleni Arts Showcase presented by Inkwekwezi Creatives Agency, celebrating 30 years of democracy through art. He was also featured in the Matriarch Virtual Art Exhibition, launched by Edladleni Art Gallery, which showcased the vibrancy and diversity of South African culture in a curated online format.
