Nnenna Okore (PhD) is a Nigerian-born artist and Professor of Art at North Park University in Chicago. Her multidisciplinary practice investigates ecological issues through biodegradable materials such as fibers, bioplastics, and cheesecloth. Combining research, teaching, and artmaking, Okore transforms organic matter into sculptural installations that reflect renewal and impermanence. A Fulbright Scholar and recipient of the Creative Victoria Creators Fund, she has exhibited globally at the Museum of Art and Design (New York), Museu Afro Brasil, and the Chengdu Biennale. Her work embodies an ethics of care, drawing attention to the interdependence between humanity and the environment.
